PROMOTING THE STUDY OF ANCIENT GREEK AND CHINESE CULTURE

Scientific actions and development of bilateral contacts in order to foster the comparative study of ancient Greek and Chinese culture through:

• international conferences to be organized in Greece and/or through the participation of the members of the project teams in international conferences outside Greece
• a series of academic visits of Greek experts to China and invitations to Greece by Chinese experts for lectures and seminars
• the development of collaborations and exchange of ideas and know-how for the future organisation and development of joint research projects with foreign institutions

Implementation of translations for the publication of classical texts of Greek literature and/or contemporary relevant studies in English and/or Chinese for the promotion of ancient Greek culture and the strengthening of the international reputation of Greek universities and, conversely, translation of texts on Chinese philosophy into modern Greek.

Actions in Greece, for the general public, aimed at fostering a culture of openness towards Chinese culture.

Actions that will create a pool of young people interested in the comparative study of the two cultures, such as, for example, the organisation of a summer school.

Outreach and publicity actions through the production of video material, websites and printed materials.
